Starting off OWHA PROVINCIAL PLAYDOWNS with a WIN
After a successful and exhausting weekend the CHATSWORTH ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION Branch 464 PeeWee C Girls rolled right into their 1st OWHA PROVINCIAL PLAYDOWN GAME last night in Keady.  They hosted and defeated the Walkerton Capitals 5 - 2 for their 1st 2 points of the round robin series.

The Capitals got on the board first at 6:23 in the 1st period with a breakaway goal by their captain Emma Fortney.
Tristin Brown (happy to be back) flew through the defence to score unassisted at 4:49.
Reese Wilkins added one a minute later on a power play assisted by Jade Gilchrist and Abby Vokes, and
Emily Meuser flipped the puck into the net with 1:19 left, on a pass from Reese and Emma Watson.
After an injury on our forward line, the girls went back to playing with 9 for the remainder of the game.
Walkerton's captain popped in a power play goal in some confusion at our net early in the 2nd, but Jade kept digging and answered back with one of her own before the end of the period.
Tristin went end to end and scored the only goal in the 3rd at 11:55.

The girls hit the road for 2 more playdown games this week, tonight in Markdale and Friday night in Mildmay.

Congratulations to Dianne Long, the winner of last night's 50 / 50 draw, and thank you to the PeeWee's loyal fans for their support.
