They ARE the 2015 OWHA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS!!!
We've all had a couple of days to let TCDMHA's amazing accomplishments sink in ... and it's still unbelievable!
The CHATWORTH ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION Branch 464 PEEWEE 'C' REBELS were just one of our 4 outstanding teams at the 2015 OWHA Provincial Championship Tournament ... and they were one of 2 to bring home the GOLD MEDAL!

They were ONE TEAM with ONE DREAM (and stood united on and off the ice).

The girls finished 1st in their pool with a 2-1-0 record, and blew through the Quarter and Semi-Finals with shutout wins on their way to an exciting - 16.9 seconds remaining - tie - breaking - GILCHRIST - goal to WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Game 1 : Friday morning vs TIMMONS : 1 - 0 SHUTOUT WIN
Tristin Brown snuck in the lone goal of the game with 2:31 remaining, on a pass from Jamie Gilchrist and Jess Davidson.  Some questionable calls lead to the REBELS playing the final minutes of the game 6 on 3, but they were NOT giving anything away.  Good thing the parents had a few hours between games to relax.  No one was breathing properly after that intense matchup.
(after it was over ... Bantam Coach Brad Moran predicted that these two teams would meet again in the Championship Game!)

Game 2 : Friday night vs ILDERTON : 3 - 0 LOSS
The REBELS out shot the Jets, but the Jets capitalized on a power play early in the game with an unfortunate goal deflecting in off our defenseman's stick up into our net.  The Jets scored at the end of the 2nd, and added an empty net goal in the final minutes of the game.

Game 3 : Saturday afternoon vs KITCHENER : 3 - 1 WIN
Kitchener took an early lead with a crazy shot from the boards, just 15 seconds after the puck dropped.
Ashlynn Stephenson and our mighty defence regrouped and didn't let the RANGERS back in again.
Abby Vokes carried the puck in and made a beauty pass to Reese Wilkins who tied it up with 1:15 remaining in the 1st.
13 seconds into the 3rd, Reese and Abby did it again and took the lead.
Emily Meuser went in alone on a shift change, weaved through 3 Rangers and buried the final goal of the game at 8:15.

Game 4 : QUARTER-FINAL Saturday night vs BLYTHE : 5 - 0 SHUTOUT WIN
Emily started off the scoring at 8:15 in the 1st, with assists from our 'D' Lindsay Elliott and Morgan Moran.
It wasn't until the final minute of the 2nd that Tristin intercepted a pass and went in and scored short-handed.
Tristin struck again at 7:47 in the 3rd, assisted by Jamie and Emma Watson.
Emily scored her 2nd of the game on a rebound from Tristin's shot at 2:35, and an assist to Jamie for setting them all up.
With 1:54 left on the clock, Jade Gilchrist got the puck out front to Abby...but it was Reese that deflected it into the net.

Game 5 : SEMI-FINAL Sunday morning vs NEPEAN : 4 - 0 SHUTOUT WIN
The REBELS capitalized on the only power play of the game at 5:43 in the 1st, when Abby scored from Jade and Jess.
At 11:14 in the 2nd, Reese shot the puck out from behind the net to Abby and it was deflected into the net off a helmet I think.  We'll take it!
BAMM ... 10 seconds later Emma got the puck from the faceoff at centre ice, passed to Tristin and Emily burned it to the net to get the pass and the goal.
Reese finished off the period and the scoring with a rebound at 3:23 on a shot from Jade and a pass from Morgan.
The 3rd period went by scoreless for both sides and it was onto the Gold Medal game for the REBELS!!!

Game 6 : CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL Sunday afternoon vs TIMMONS (again) : 2 - 1 WIN
The 1st period flew by going end to end with these evenly matched teams taking shot after shot. Ashlynn was amazing in our net and we all forgot how big the TIMMONS goalie was, covering all angles of her net.
Reese finally jammed the puck into the KINGS net at 8:52 in the 2nd to the delight of all the TCDMHA fans that had just arrived from the ATOM game.
With a rare breakaway, the KINGS tied the game at 11:35 in the 3rd.  We all held our breath as the play went back and forth with no goals to be had as the time ticked away.  It was looking like O.T. was in the cards ... until Reese got the puck to Abby and she found Jade ready at the net ... TIC-TAC-TOE ... 16.9 seconds left in the game and the REBELS SCORE!  REBELS are the PEEWEE 'C' CHAMPIONS!
