On the Road to Provincials; 8 points and plus 29 Goals For and Against!
The Rebel Ladies won back to back games this week bringing them one step closer to the opportuntity to go to the OWHA Provincial Championship.  They played their games this week short handed as they were missing forward Natalie Madill who is away on a vacation.  The Rebels were up to the challenge as the defence played a three man rotation and Cecily Mallette tried her hand at forward.  They defeated Bruce Peninsula 5-0 and tonight Saugeen Shores 12-1. The girls look forward to welcoming Natalie back for their game on Sunday against Kincardine.

On Wednesday in Desboro,  Summer Roney started the scoring assisted by Tara Meikle and Cecily Mallette. Tara Meikle and Claire Vokes each added two more goals.  Assists went to Abby Watson (2), Cecily Mallette, Claire Vokes and Emma MacDonnell to give them the 5-0 win. Grace Vokes got the shutout.

Tonight in Southampton the Rebels rocked the Saugeen Shores Storm, although their goalie put up a valiant effort.  The first period was dominated by the dynamic duo of Kloey Jex and Emma MacDonnell.  Their only interruption was when Saugeen's Chloe Lalonde got away on the girls and snuck one by Grace Vokes in net.  Other than that Kloey Jex scored, on a pass from Emma MacDonnell. Then Emma MacDonnell from Kloey Jex, Kloey from Emma and finally Kloey from Brooke Farrow and Emma MacDonnell.  Kloey earned a hat trick in the first period!

The girls were cycling well around the net as evidenced by the fifth goal. Claire Vokes dug the puck out of the corner, passed to Kloey Jex who passed it back to her in front of the net for Claire to score! Next, Emma MacDonnell fired the puck into the top corner, again on a pass from Kloey Jex.  Emma again tipped the puck in the corner of the net for her hat trick of the game.  The final goal of the 2nd was scored by Tara Meikle on a power play, assisted by Summer Roney.

In the third Brooke Farrow fired the puck from the point and scored.  Then Abby Watson passed it in from the point to Summer Roney who buried it in the top corner to make it 10-1 for the Rebels.  Brooke Farrow added another goal assisted by Emma MacDonnell and Kloey Jex.  Lastly, Kloey Jex scored again assisted by Emma MacDonnell and Claire Vokes.  Thanks also to Georgia Rutter and Cecily Mallette for their hard work.

This was the girls 4th playdown game.  They have 8 points and the lead in their pool with +29 in the goals for and against category!  Keep up the good work girls.
