Rebels UNDEFEATED in Season Play! 14-0-2!!
The Chatsworth "Desboro Lion's Club" Atoms won their second Playdown game on Saturday in Desboro as they defeated West Grey 7-0. It was also their last game of their WOAA league play. Their league record this year was an incredible 14 wins 0 losses and 2 ties! This places them in FIRST at the end of regular play with 30 points. Way to go girls!! Their year end tournament will be March 7th and 8th in Belmore.
Today the girls started their scoring off early when Tara Meikle decked out West Grey and put one past their goalie after a pass from Kloey Jex. Not long after Kloey Jex scored assisted by Claire Vokes and Brooke Farrow.
Tara Meikle scored again early in the second, assisted by Summer Roney and Natalie Madill. Brooke Farrow broke out of her defensive end and fired in the puck. Emma MacDonnell and Kloey Jex got their sticks on it and Brooke finally poked it in.
Then in the third Brooke Farrow cranked a hard shot directly at the goalie. It deflected off the goalie's stick and in to the back of the net to make it 5-0 for the Rebels.m Kloey Jex scored not long after that, assisted by Emma MacDonnell. Natalie Madill rounded out the scoring on a pass from Summer Roney to make it a 7-0 final. Grace Vokes got the shutout!
The Rebels Provinical qualifiers continue on Wednesday night in Desboro at 7pm against Bruce Peninsula. Come on out and cheer us on!
