6 Goals and 1 Shutout = First Playdown Win!!
The Markdale Shooting Stars fell 6-0 to the "Desboro Lion's Club" Atom rep girls in their first of six playdown games.  The girls are pumped and ready for their playdowns which will determine which Atom C teams from this region attend the OWHA Provincial Championship April 10-12. They will play all six games in the next two weeks.

Brooke Farrow started the scoring off early in the first when she fired the puck at the net off of an across ice pass from defence partner Cecily Mallette.  Markdale was pouring it on but the Rebels passing and hard work couldn't be beaten.  Late in the first Natalie Madill scored on a rebound from Tara Meikle and Abby Watson.  Then with only 2 seconds remaining Kloey Jex found the back of the net again on a pass from Brooke Farrow.  The girls didn't let up as Tara Meikle and Claire Vokes earned goals in the second period with assists from Claire Vokes, Emma MacDonnell and Kloey JexClaire Vokes added the sixth goal in the third, assisted by Kloey Jex and Emma MacDonnell.  Despite several attacks on her net goalie Grace Vokes made many saves and worked hard for the shutout! 

On Saturday the girls also faced Lucknow-Wingham in a regular season game.  The less experienced Lucknow team struggled and the Rebels defeated them 19-1.
