BACK AND FORTH NAIL-BITER
The TCDMHA Horton Concrete Novice Rep travelled to Ripley this evening to play the Wolves for WOAA Jacobi Playoffs and came up short.
It was an exciting back and forth nail-biting game as the Rebels came out strong and started the goal scoring early but as each puck went in the Wolves responded with a goal of their own to keep the game close and they were tied 3-3 after the first period.
Next, the Wolves got an early goal to lead the game through the rest of the 2nd period to make the score 4-3.
During the 3rd period, the Wolves found the back of net again to lead 5-3. Then, with 3:14 left of the game the Rebels grit and determination came through as they got another goal to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Wolves responded with a goal of their own to keep maintain their 2 goal lead. But, the Rebels kept pressing on and found the back of the net again bring the score back up to 6-5. A few seconds later the wolves scored again but the Rebels didn't stop there and with 45 seconds left they got one more goal to trail by one again. Despite the last ditch effort of pulling the Goalie for the final moments of the game, it wasn't quite enough and the time ran out with a final score of 7-6.
Nathaniel Gibbons lead the Rebels goal scoring this evening with 4 goals. Alex Baker and Austin Cook got one goal each. Assists went to Austin Cook (3), Alex Baker (2), Karissa Rasmussen (2) and Aiden Fluney (1).
