Mountain Blanks Lakers Again
Ty Mountain extended his shutout streak against the Shallow Lake Lakers to 4 games as the Air Tech Mechanical Rebels took a 2-0 OMHA DD series lead by blanking the Lakers 3-0.
The Rebels took a early 1-0 lead when Matt buried a nice feed from Nate. The game then turned into a tight checking affair with neither team able to find the back of the net until the Rebels scored two quick goals late in the second period. The Rebels caught a break on their second goal when the Lakers made a good defensive play to stop Owen's attempted pass, but fortunately for the Rebels the puck bounced back to Owen who quickly put the puck into the Lakers net. Minutes later Mitch buried a rebound to put the boys up by 3. Assists went to Owen and Alex H.
With the score 3-0 after 2, Ty shut the barn door and kept his net clean. Final shots on goal were 19-17 for the Rebels. Game 3 goes Saturday afternoon in Chatty.
