Strong Start at Silver Stick
The Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels got off to a strong start at the Kincardine Silver Stick by picking up 3 out of a possible 4 points.

The first game saw our Rebels facing South Bruce.  South Bruce is leading the strongest WOAA Bantam Division and despite the boys current hot streak they were not overly confident of salvaging any points in this game. After playing the first 5-6 minutes in our own end the Rebels were able to take the lead when Branson tipped Reid's point shot past the South Bruce goalie.  South Bruce tied the game in the second. In the third, Nate cleanly won the draw back to Austin, and Austin fired a low hard drive past the keeper to put the Rebels up 2-1.  The boys tried desparately to hold on but South Bruce tied the game with 3:56 remaining.  The game ended 2-2 with all Rebel players, coaches and fans happy to see the boys gain a point against South Bruce.  Ty was superb in goal and was there was no doubt that he was the Rebels player of the game.
Game 2 saw us up against Blyth-Brussels.  Again the Rebels were dominated early but a Crusader penalty allowed a powerplay opportunity that the boys were not going to pass up.  Nate buried James's rebound for a 1-0 lead that stood until the 3rd period. Another Crusader penalty brought another pp goal for the Rebels.  Branson got the puck to Owen low in the corner and Owen hit Mitch with a nice pass in front of the net.  Mitch made no mistake and dented the twine.  Minutes later Alex K put the game out of reach  when his shot was deflected into the Crusader net by one of their own defenders.  Final Score 3-0 Rebels with a well deserved shutout for Ty.
The boys hope for another positive result Saturday morning at 9 am against the Flesherton Golden Hawks.
