Young Canada Week Tournament Finalist
The TCDMHA “Chatsworth Legion Branch 464” Pee Wee C Girls participated in the Young Canada Week Tournament this weekend in Goderich.

Following a busy week of provincial play-down action these ladies played five great games of hockey through-out the weekend.

Game One vs. Ilderton on Friday night ended in a 1:1 tie.  Lone goal scored by Erica McComb.  Team MVP was awarded to Ashlyn Mackison and Grace Kivell.

Game Two vs. Seaforth/BCH on Saturday morning ended in another tie (0:0).  Team MVP was awarded to Hannah Mustard.

Game Three Saturday afternoon was against Lucknow/Wingham.  Although the Rebels played a great game the Lucknow squad won 1:0.  Team MVP was awarded to Jessica Moran.

Game Four (Semi-finals) the lady Rebels had to once again face off against the now first placed Lucknow/Wingham squad.  With scoring being our weakness all weekend the ladies knew that to reach the finals we would need to score...and score they did!!  A thrilling 3:0 win for the Rebels.  Gabby McNabb with 2 goals and Rachel Mallette with 1.

Game Five (Finals):  The Young Canada week girl’s final saw TCDMHA square off against Ilderton.  Both teams played well and after a hard fought battle the game ended in a 0:0 tie.  With a 10 minute sudden-death overtime period on the clock and both teams gunning for gold the fans were on the edge of their seats.  Although Ilderton eventually found the back of our net winning the game 1:0 the Rebels played a fantastic game and were awarded with the Silver Medal.
Way to go Rebels – you ALL played awesome this weekend and should wear those medals with pride!!
