Ottawa 2013
Ottawa 2013 for the TCDMHA “Chatsworth Legion Branch 464” Pee Wee C Girls was a fantastic five-day weekend of great hockey, fabulous friendships & a breath-taking city for all to enjoy!

The Pee Wee Girls played their first Provincial Championship game on Thursday afternoon facing off against the Sudbury Lady Wolves.  After two scoreless periods the Rebels lost their game for a bit in the 3rd allowing Sudbury to pull ahead by three.  The Wolves eventually took the game 3:0.

Ready to show Ottawa what they were made of the Rebels came with their game faces on as they met the home town Nepean Wildcats on Friday.  Nepean opened the scoring early in the 2nd but it wasn’t long before the Rebels answered back.  Grace Kivell scored the first goal of the weekend with Ashlyn Mackison assisting.  Rachel Mallette put two more on the board in the 2nd allowing the visiting Rebels to pull ahead (Gabby NcNabb assisted both goals).  Although Nepean was able to add one more...TCDMHA held on to win the game 3:2.

With a 1:1 record heading into their third game the lady Rebels knew they needed to win and win big.  Meeting the Clearview Icecats Saturday morning the girls had their best game of the year with a HUGE 5:1 win.  Scoring for the Rebels were Gabby McNabb (x2), Erica McComb & Rachel Mallette (x2).  Assists were awarded to Erica McComb (x2), Jessica Moran, Kassey Mustard & Rachel Mallette.

With TCDMHA now in a three way tie for first in their pool the Rebels waited anxiously to see how the final numbers would fall as only the top two teams would advance to the quarter finals.  Unfortunately the numbers did not fall in our favour and the Rebels quest for gold came to an end.  But the Chatsworth girls are holding their heads high as they were the only team in the tournament to hand the new 2013 Pee Wee C Provincial Champions the Nepean Wildcats a loss!!  Way to go Rebels!!

What a huge experience for these young ladies and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of so many people.  A special thanks to all those who were cheering for us from home, to the many who made the long drive and to a wonderful coaching staff for bringing these girls so far this season!!
