PEEWEE GIRLS ADVANCE TO 2nd ROUND
Taking the “easy road” does not seem to be the way the Pee Wee girls roll in Provincial play-down action!!  A four game round robin series and the lady Rebels have made it a nail-biter right to the bitter end!!

Heading into this weekend with a win & a loss under their belt the TCDMHA “Chatsworth Legion Branch 464” Pee Wee “C” girls needed to come out strong for these last two games.  Saturday afternoon the ladies travelled to Ayton to take on the West Grey squad.   Two scoreless periods before West Grey scored mid-way through the third.  But the Rebels battled back and with just 30 seconds left on the clock and an extra attacker on the ice Gabby McNabb buried one deep in the West Grey net.  Jessica Moran & Kassey Mustard with the assists.  This stressful battle ended in a 1:1 tie!

Sunday afternoon the Rebels needed a win or their run was over.  So the Pee Wee girls set off for Thornbury to face off against Georgian Shores.  The Rebels got on the board first with a goal by Jessica Moran in the 1st period.  The Lightening answered back in the second tying the game at one a piece.   With the Rebels fans once again on their edge of their seats...Rachel Mallette scored the game winner with 3 minutes left on the clock!  An exciting 2:1 victory for the Rebels!!

The Pee Wee Girls will now play a 2 out of 3 game series with a 2nd place team out of a neighbouring district to determine a spot in the Provincial Championships!!
