And the streak starts now!
With a solid 4-2 win against the Walkerton Capitals in Walkerton last Sunday, the TCDMHA Power Workers Union Midget LL have officially started a streak.

The game play of the Rebels’ second contest of the season can best be summed up with one word: domination.  The Rebels owned the ice for the first period, scoring two unanswered goals – the first by Josh Currie and the second by Jake Hartman, both unassisted.   The second period was no different, with the Rebels scoring two more – one by Jack Kivell, assisted by Charlie Scott, and the other by Josh Currie from Duncan Martin and Carson Torrie.  Solid goaltending by netminder, Jason Rudolph-MacLeod, kept the home team blanked.  It would be late in the second before the opponents could get on the board, and they could only add one more in the third, leaving the Rebels with a comfortable two-goal cushion to end the game.

While the Rebels always bring their trademark skill and sportsmanship to the rink, they are by no means strangers to physical play, willing to stand up to whatever is thrown at them.  Testament to the Rebels grit and determination is the rugby scrum that forward, Talmon Ash, found himself in partway through the game.  At one point, at least three, but it could have easily been four, of Walkerton’s biggest players were involved in a frantic battle on the boards in the Rebels’ end trying desperately to gain control of the puck to narrow the point gap.  Somewhere in the middle of the fracas was Talmon, who dug in and fought hard, ultimately emerging with the puck and getting it out of the defensive zone.

There’s a reason why the Rebels’ mascot is a bulldog.   Great game, boys!
