Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool!
Coming off their last game of the semi-final round-robin just before March Break, the TCDMHA Power Workers’ Union Midget LL Rebels left no doubt, no doubt, no doubt who deserved to finish in first place and advance to the championship finals when they took down the Saugeen Storm on home ice in Markdale.

The Rebels lost 3-1 in their first meeting against the Saugeen Storm earlier in the qualifying round, and they were hungry to even the score.  The Rebels’ pot started to simmer in the first period with goals by Chris Hardman (assists: Carson Torrie, Josh Currie) and Brandon Lindstrom (unassisted), but the whole thing boiled over in the second when the Rebels unleashed a constant barrage of shots as they dominated play.  The Rebels continued to light the lamp as Josh Currie (assist: Brandon Lindstrom),  Jake Hartman (assist: Tiki Stockwell), Brandon Lindstrom (assist: Tiki Stockwell), and Hunter Courtney (unassisted) blasted four more unanswered goals into the Storm net.  Chris Hardman (assist: Wes Houston) added one more marker in the third to bring the final tally to seven for the Rebels.  One lucky break late in the second for the Storm resulted in their lone goal, denying the Rebels’ outstanding netminder, Jason Rudolph-Macleod, what would have been his record 12th shutout of the season.

What doesn’t show up on the scoresheet is what the Rebels’ did when the red light wasn’t on.  Put it this way, the good guys robbed the Storm of more pucks than the Pontiac Bandit stole cars.  What words can describe this all-out, leave their hearts on the ice, dedicated team effort?  Awesome?  Great?  Fantastic?

How about…Noice!

P.S.  Jake Peralta and the 9-9 say, “Best of luck in the finals, boys!”
