Tonight the RF King Excavating Atom LL Rebels took their first step in what is expected to be a successful playoff run. The kids played a near flawless game against an improved Owen Sound Gold taking the game 5-2.
Liam Cooke and Justin Nagel played a great game in the net making many clutch saves at key moments. The rock solid defence of Billy Catto, Conlan Couch, Dane Snyder and Matthew Casemore took care of our own end moving the puck out and taking it away from the OS forwards. Simon Potter, Riley Roblin and Kayden Kirk were strong in the face off circle and supported their wingers and defence to perfection. Wingers Owen Cooke, Braden King, Duncan Hofmann and Rogan Vanstone owned the boards and created plenty of offence to give OS fits. Simon Potter had 2 goals and Braden King, who loves playing in the Julie Macarthur Arena had a hat trick. Assists were unavailable at press time but all their teammates were in on the scoring.
