Falcons Down Rebels
The Township of Chatsworth and District "Moggie Valley Timber Inc." Midget Rep Rebels played their second last game of 2017 vs. the high soaring Hanover Falcons.
The Falcons have pulverised all opponents this year with the exception of the undefeated Shallow Lake squad and prior to facing the Rebels they had averaged 6.5 goals per game throughout the season. The game started poorly with the Falcons drawing first blood only a few minutes into the first period. However, the Rebels did manage to gain some traction and held the Hanover team to a single goal lead until the final minute of the first.
With only 44 seconds left in the period, Rebel's Trenton Chegahno scored to even the game at one a piece and it looked like the teams would start the second even. It wasn't meant to be, however, when the Falcons scored with only 13 seconds left in the first to take the lead and again with only 3 seconds left to end the first 3 - 1.
The Falcons would score again early in the second period. The Rebels managed to hold them off the scoreboard for the remainder of period 2 but Falcons drew blood again in the first minute of the third. The best that can be said for the effort was that the Rebels lowered Hanover's goals for average by holding them to only 5 as the game finished 5 - 1.
However, the Rebels do have one final game in 2017: December 31, 2 pm in Markdale versus Listowel. This should prove to be a better match up so come on out and cheer the Rebels to their final win of 2017. Let's Go Rebels!!!
