Rebels Advance to WOAA Championship
The township of Chatsworth and District "Moggie Valley Timber Inc." Midget Rep Rebels faced the Listowel Cyclones in a winner take all game and came away with the win.

The Rebels didn't look hungry as they took to the ice for pre-game warm up.  The game began with end to end play.  The Rebels looked stronger than they had in their previous outing and the Rebels were doing a better job of standing up to the bigger Listowel players physical play.
Rebels were rewarded when a minute and a half into the game Cody Cunningham rushed into the Cyclones end and found mesh behind the Listowel goalie to give the Rebels the lead.  This was a home and away round robin series between Listowel, Walkerton and the Rebels with the team with the most points after the series moving on.  Rebels had 6 points coming into this final game as well as an overall +10 in goals for and against on the series.  Listowel was coming in with 4 points and an overall +9 goals.  With 2 points up for grabs, the only way to ensure Rebels move on was at least a tie after overtime or better yet a win.
Rebels carried the one goal lead through the first period and through all of period #2 and almost halfway into period 3.  Finally Cunningham beat the Cyclone goalie again with the assist of Calvin Stewart.
Rebel goalie Ty Mountain kept the Rebel goal clear as the Cyclones threw everything they had at the Rebels.  For the most part, Rebels did a good job of back checking, shot blocking and keeping the Cyclone player in front  tied up.  When the defensive play broke down, Mountain stepped up and made the saves the Rebels needed.  As the Listowel frustration grew, the penalty boxes and even the dressing rooms started to fill, but for the most part, the Rebels kept their heads to ensure they would get to play in the Championship series.  Rebels held on to win 2 - 0 with the shut out to Mountain.  WOAA Championship series versus the Wingham Ironmen to begin shortly so stay tuned.
Go Rebels Go!!!
