It has been a great weekend for the Desboro Lions Club Atom C Girls!
They started out Friday night against the Owen Sound Ice Hawks. In the first period both Claire Torrie and Tina Johnson found the back of the net with assists coming from their defensemen Halle Greenaway and Jessica Clark. These two goals were enough to win 2-1 in this tight game.
Congratulations to goaltender Laila Walser who earned the "Pink Helmet" for her performance between the pipes.
Saturday we made the trek to Wingham where the girls faced Lucknow. They opened strong with two goals in the first by the sister duo Katie and Jesse Murray. Katie and Claire Torrie assisted Jesse and Morgan Sinclair assisted Katie.
The second was scoreless despite countless chances from our group.
The flood gates opened in the third and we had scoring from Tina Johnson, Claire Torrie, another from Katie Murray, Jalaynah Moore and Alisa Christie.
On the score sheet for assists were two for Jessica Clark and another for Morgan Sinclair. The game ended 7-0 Rebels!
Katie Murray was awarded the team's "pink helmet" for her efforts in this game.
My favourite quote from the day
"The best part about my goal is that the pass came from my best friend!"
These girls are awesome!
