In just their first game of the season the Desboro Lions
Club Atom C team came out like they'd been playing together all year.
Morgan Sinclair opened the scoring in the first period after teammate Grace Madill sent her a sweet pass. In the second it was Kincardine who scored first and although the scoreboard read 1-1 it did not reflect the fact that the Rebels continued to dominate the play. The girls out worked and out chanced their opponent.
It paid off later in second when from behind the net Rebel's rookie Alisa Christie found the tape of Tina Johnson who was positioned in front of the net. After a great save by the Kincardine goalie Tina battled to put her own rebound to the back of the net.
Our own goal tender Laila Walser made a critical blocker save in the third to hold her team to a 2-1 victory.
In the words of one of the Rebels players, "despite the gloomy day outside it was one of the best days ever!"
