The TIME IS FLYING and the GIRLS KEEP WINNING ...
This 2016-17 season is proving very successful for all 3 TCDMHA BANTAM teams ... and the GIRLS are doing their part to keep it going, with 4 WINS in 4 games in the past 10 days.

First of all I need to apologize to our "SNOW BIRD FANS" for not getting this out sooner.  I've heard you've been waiting patiently by your computer ... So, here's what you've missed ...

The 'Country Charm Mennonite Furniture' BANTAM C GIRLS had a home and away with the Kincardine Kinucks that earned Ashlynn Stephenson back-to-back SHUT OUTS.

Friday January 20th in Chatsworth
These 2 teams haven't met since October, when the Kinucks took the game 2-0.  The REBELS showed them how much they've improved since the 2nd game of the season and came away with a shut out.
The Kinucks didn't know what hit them when the Gilchrists struck in the 1st minute of play.  Jamie chipped the puck out of our end and Jade went on the breakaway and scored top shelf at 9:13.
Reese Wilkins surprised everyone with a wrist shot from the blue-line that came down right in the back of the net at 3:12, with assists going to Grace Scott and Emily Meuser.
The 2nd and 3rd periods went back and forth with excellent saves at both ends of the ice, and it wasn't until the Kinucks pulled their goalie in the final minute of the game that Jade struck again burying the empty netter at 0:50.
Final score: Rebels 3 - Kinucks 0

Sunday January 22nd in Kincardine
This was a fast paced game on a BIG ice surface.  Ashlynn kept the Kinucks out of her net, and the game winning (lone) goal came early in the 3rd period when Emily went down to our end backtracking to get the puck.  She forced the turnover, went end to end and scored top shelf - short side.
Final score:  Rebels 1 - Kinucks 0

Saturday January 28th in Mildmay
With FLU SEASON in high gear, our skaters were dropping like flies.  With 4 girls out of our lineup and a couple more dragging themselves to the rink, the REBELS pulled together and got the job done!
Of course it was another South Bruce game with 3 - 15 minute periods, so the girls paced themselves and seemed to handle it well.
Jade got the REBELS on the board with the help of Jamie and Brooklyn Mole at 7:25, and exactly a minute later, Tristin Brown weaved her way down the ice through the Blades' D and fired top shelf at 6:25.
The 2nd period, and half the 3rd went by scoreless before Tristin carried the puck in again, deked the goalie and backhanded it in, once she went down at 6:22.
The girls kept the pressure on and after some commotion at the net, Jamie flipped the puck up and over the goalie for the final goal of the game at 5:38, assisted by Brooklyn.
Final score: Rebels 4 - Blades HL 0

Monday January 30th back in Chatsworth
With a later timeslot opening up, the girls took a break from studying for exams to play host to the Walkerton Capitals.
After a scoreless 1st period, the REBELS took control of the 2nd with Reese and Tristin both skating in and earning unassisted goals at 12:10 and 10:55.
Reese fired another shot that snuck inside the post and dropped behind the goalie at 7:54, assist going to Jade.
Both teams came back from the flood with renewed energy for a fast paced 3rd period.
Tristin entered the zone and fired a rocket past the goalie at 9:54, and the Capitals answered right back with a breakaway goal of their own at 9:20.
After a D to D pass from Sarah Madill to Morgan Moran, Tristin picked up the pass and went end to end to complete her HAT TRICK on a power-play at 8:21.
The Capitals went in the box one more time and Grace got the puck back to Sarah who fired it from high in the slot ... to net her 1st goal of the season!
Final score: Rebels 6 - Capitals 1

The girls are wrapping up exams and (hopefully) resting for a big weekend, where they will join the Novice C and Midget C teams to represent TCDMHA at the 2017 Saugeen Shores Girls'  Silver Stick Tournament.
