Way To Go REBELS ...
It was a true team effort on Friday night for the COUNTRY CHARM MENNONITE FURNITURE Bantam C Rebels when the Walkerton Capitals came to town.
Walkerton brought their A game, but the Rebels defence and
Ashlynn Stephenson kept them under control.
Reese Wilkins got the home team on the board, assisted by
Jade Gilchrist at 6:27 in the 1st period.
The Capitals "capitalized" on a 5-on-3 to tie it up at 12:15 in the 2nd.
The Gilchrist's owned the rest of the period, each adding one to the scoreboard.
Jamie battled at the net and sent the puck over the line after several attempts by our offense at 11:32. Assists were rewarded to
Reese and
Janna Wardell.
This line struck again at 8:06 and after a delayed decision ... it was a goal by
Jade, assist to
Reese.
The 3rd period saw impressive defensive play at both ends, but "centre for the day"
Morgan Moran earned a Celly after a determined effort by her and wingers
Aubrey Urbshott and
Grace Scott resulted in the final goal of the night at 1:17.
Final Score: 4 - 1
Way to go REBELS!
With the cancellation of their next 2 home games, the girls will enjoy a bit of a break and get in some practice time and Christmas celebrations before their next game in Chatsworth on December 30th.
We're all wishing for the return of teammate Brooklyn Mole for that game!
