A WEEKEND of BATTLING the BLADES
The COUNTRY CHARM MENNONITE FURNITURE Bantam C Rebels should be very proud of their performance this weekend!  We all are!!!
The girls battled the South Bruce HL squad on Friday night in Chatsworth and then travelled to Teeswater to take on the undefeated South Bruce C team on Sunday.

The girls were happy to finally get back on home ice in Chatsworth, and came out flying!
Jade Gilchrist got the Rebels on the board early, assisted by Reese Wilkins at 8:38.  Our offense didn't let up and kept the shots flying at the Blades net, but their goal tender was on her game and kept her team in it.
Ashlynn Stephenson and her defense played a great game and controlled the puck in our end.  The Blades did sneak one in through traffic to tie it up with 2:35 left in the game, but the Rebels were not happy with that and came on even stronger.
In the final minute Tristin Brown worked her magic, skating circles around the defense.  She sent a pass over to Aubrey Urbshott, who fired the go ahead goal in the net at 0.54 ... and Jade earned her 2nd of the game with just 16.5 seconds remaining, assisted by Reese and Jamie Gilchrist.
Final Score: 3 - 1

After listening to snow squall warnings all day, we took the chance and headed to Teeswater for the 1st match-up of the season with our LEAGUE RIVALS.    This was a fast paced, end to end 45 minutes that seemed like forever!   The Blades scored midway through the 1st and the Rebels played catch up for the rest of the game.
Ashlynn was AMAZING in the net, facing as many shots as she's seen all year.
This strong REP team was a definite challenge for our girls, and they rose to it proving they belong right up with the top teams.   It was looking like our girls were going to be settling for the 1 - 0 loss ... unitl Reese got a hold of the puck in the final minute (AGAIN) and skated up the boards making a shot high blocker side at 0.55 ... that went to the back of the net!
The crowd went wild and you would have thought we won the game.
Final Score: 1 - 1
