Pink on the Rink
The Chatsworth Legion PeeWee B had another successful weekend of hockey and team building in the South Huron Pink on the Rink Tournament!

The first game wasn't until 4:40 on Friday and despite the weather all the girls were able to make it for the game against Mt. Brydges.  The game was a lot of back and fourth paly for the first period until Maizy Hutchinson was able to net a goal assisted by Summer Roney and Kloey Jex. Then the girls were battling to keep the lead then Koley Jex was able to net a beauty assisted By Emma MacDonnell to give the girls a 2 goal advantage!  They were not done yet as the girl got one more goal again from Maizy Hutchinson assisted by Jex and Roney ending in a 3-0 win with Cameryn Gateman earning the shut-out!  This was it for the day for the team and they were off to the Oakwood resort with all the other Rebels that were participating in the tournament for a Team dinner a swim and some team bonding until their second game of the tournament on Saturday.

Saturday the girls were facing off against Mitchell and this game would prove to be a nail biter for the spectators and the coaches.  The first period was scoreless with lots of back and fourth play.  The second would be the same but Mitchell was able to get one past the Rebels net minder at 6:07 in the period.  The girls were coming from behind and were struggling to get a goal but then at 6:28 in the third Summer Roney was able to poke one in past the Mitchell goaltender assisted by Maizy Hutchinson and this game would remain 1-1 tie. This put the Rebels in first place with 3 points to give them the bye to the Championship game on Sunday at 12:40 and to be another game against Mitchell!

With the bad weather down in South Huron and some miscommunication amongst the tournament conveyors the Championship game against Mitchell was cancelled in error. Therefore our team brought home the Gold Medal and the Banner.

The Team was disappointed as they were looking forward to the rematch with Mitchell but that Rematch will happen on Sunday Jan 15 at 3:40 in Mitchell with a regular season game.
