LLFHL PEEWEE B SEASON CHAMPIONS!
The TCDMHA Chatsworth Legion PEEWEE B win GOLD!

Well what a weekend is all that I can say right now and I don’t know where to start as there is so much to tell!  These girls have played so well all season and earned their spot to the LLFHL Championship weekend with 22 games 18 wins, 2 ties and 2 losses for regular season.  Three rounds of Playoff that had 6 wins and 1 loss.  They have proved to us that this weekend would be no different!

Game 1 was against the Lindsay Lynx we had a bit of a rough start before the game with a player at the wrong rink and a few equipment malfunctions but they all kept calm and it is amazing how fast one player can dress in a bathroom stall while the coaches gave their pre-game speech!  Well done Kaitlyn and Keri.  The girls hit the ice hard and it was only a 1 goal game and that goal was scored by NATALIE MADILL assisted by KLOEY JEX shutout number 1 earned by LAURA NAVES.  Then is was off to grab some food and head to the next rink for out 3:15 game

This was a match up against The Barrie Sharks, this game was the same as always girls ready to go and hitting the ice wanting the win.  Barrie was a challenge and they put the pressure on the Rebels but they didn’t back down.  First goal of the game was scored with :08 left in the first and it was a beauty from NATALIE MADILL assisted by KLOEY JEX and ABBY WATSON.  Next to score was SUMMER RONEY with one from the slot assisted by KLOEY JEX and MEGHAN PRENTICE they were not done yet as NATALIE MADILL was able to get another goal as she was able to find the puck in the scrum in front of the net again assisted by KLOEY JEX, shut out number 2 earned by CAMERYN GATEMAN!  This was it for the night it was back to the hotel for supper and fun as it is April Fools day the next day so the girls made sure that they pulled a prank on the coach that he would find in the morning

Game 3 was early and we were playing The Lakeshore Lighting this again was a 1 goal game that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats until 4:00 left in the second when TARA MEIKLE would net a beauty unassisted to give the Rebels a 1-0 win and Shutout number 3 was earned by LAURA NAVES! Now we have a very very long wait until game 4 which wasn’t unit 7:30 so it was off for a bit of shopping and down time.

Game 4….. well it was intense and that is the only way to describe it we were playing Mississauga and their fans were loud and the players were aggressive but the girls held their own we had to battle hard and they were able to net 3 goals Goal number 1 from KLOEY JEX assisted by EMMA MACDONNELL goal number 2 was MAIZY HUTCHINSON assisted by EMMA MACDONNELL and KLOEY JEX and goal number 3 again from MAIZY HUTCHINSON assisted by KLOEY JEX and BROOKE FARROW and shut out number 4 goes to CAMERON GATEMAN!  With 4 wins and 4 shutouts it was off to bed for a rematch for gold medal game against The Barrie Sharks!

We were all at the arena ready to go after a good night’s sleep, the team did their normal warm up but we had a guest speaker this time we were luck enough that JOE RUTTER came in to the room to help focus the girls and give an amazing and calming speech!  This was the game they have been working for all season and did they ever earn it!  Barrie was wanting it to and you could tell.  The first was scoreless but in the second TARA MEIKLE netted a goal assisted by MAIZY HUTCHINSON and EMMA MACDONNELL this was still an intense game and then KAITLY NICKASON wound up from the blue line and oh my it was a rocket and in it went top shelf assisted by KLOEY JEX.  The last few minutes of the game were the most stressful as Barrie was able to get the one and only goal all weekend past our goalie to make it a 2-1 game.  Then we found ourselves short handed as well as the Barrie Goalie pulled to give them the 6 on 4 advantage but there was no getting through our girls.  MAIZY HUTCHINSON was able to seal the deal with an empty net goal to give the Rebels the 3-1 win that they needed to earn the GOLD!

Well done ladies and rest up for next weekend as you have to do it all over again for PROVINCIALS.  We are all so very proud of you!  We also would like to congratulate our fellow lady Rebels with the ATOM and BANTAM teams winning their WOAA year end tournament well done girls!!
