Battled to the End
Playdown game #2 against the Kincardine Kinucks ended one goal short after a hard fought battle to the very end.
The girls were ready for their rematch against Kincardine on home ice. Both teams came out strong, but our girls started the scoring early in the first period with a strong shot from the point by Erica that was grabbed by Katie and shot in from the corner of the net. Two minutes before the end of the first, Kincardine managed to put themselves on the board. The score remained 1-1 for the entire second period. Half way through the third, Kincardine scored two quick ones to make it 3-1. Our Rebels didn't give up, and with 19 seconds remaining and a total group effort, Emily Moore managed to find the back of the net. The goalie was pulled and our six skaters gave it their all in an attempt to tie it up, but the buzzer ended the game resulting in a 3-2 loss. Wish them luck when they face off against Walkerton on Sunday.
