Slow Start to Playdowns
Town & Country Garden Centre Midget B Girls lost to the Kincardine Kinucks B team on Tuesday night in Tiverton in their first OWHA Playdown game.
Kincardine put themselves on the scoreboard 54 seconds into the game. Our girls fought back and two minutes later, after Madison Ames pushed the puck ahead deep into their end, Katie Brancati dropped back to cover and received a pass that she quickly flipped into the net. The score remained tied to the end of the first period, but Kincardine managed to score 2 in the second and 2 more in the third to end the game at 5-1 in their favour. We were unfortunately plagued by the short bench syndrome, but look forward to facing off against Kincardine again next Friday at home with a full squad.
