Not to be outdone by her goalie partner Hannah, Emily Roney came home from Markdale with a shut out of her own on Sunday afternoon.
The "Town & Country Garden Centre" Midget B Girls travelled to Markdale to play their final game of the regular season. After their defeat to the Shooting Stars last Friday night, the girls were determined to prove that they could beat the strong Markdale team. Once again, plagued by injury and illness, we welcomed back our newest recruits, Carlie and Brittany. The two teams were evenly matched throughout the game. After what seemed like the longest five minutes ever, Emily Moore scored an unassisted goal to put us on the board. Our girls continued to pressure their goalie and strong skating team, but to no avail. It wasn't until late in the second that Natalie Stephens made a pass to Morgan Williamson that she flipped into the top of the net. Morgan later rang the pipes with a near goal, but the game ended at a 2-0 win for our Rebels.
