Another Close One
The Extreme Heating Pee Wee Local League Rebels came close again but lost 4-2 to the West Grey Warriors #2 in Keady on Saturday.
The Rebels scored late in the first period as William Hoare scored unassisted on a pass out to the front of the net that bounced off a Warrior defence man. West Grey would tie the game a minute later before the end of the first.
West Grey would take the lead again early in the second. Hoare would then tie the game with three minutes left in the second as he stole the puck from in front of the goalie to tuck in a back hander into the back of the net. Again a minute later the Warriors would strike to take a 3-2 lead into the third period.
The Warriors would add an insurance goal in the third to make the final 4-2.
The Rebels played tough and worked extremely hard even though they were short a couple players. Owen Mackison was amazing in net again making many super saves. Some players played some different positions and did a great job. Landon Heathers was great playing centre and Adam Gorman had an impressive game on defence. Everyone played hard and it was a great game to watch.
Good effort boys!
