They expected a tough battle and they got it ... when the Walkerton Capitals came to Chatsworth to face the COUNTRY CHARM MENNONITE FURNITURE Bantam 'C' Girls Sunday afternoon.
The REBELS started off strong going end to end with the top ranked Capitals.
Walkerton got one in our net midway through the 1st, but
Jess Moran skated down early in the 2nd and tied it up unassisted.
We had trouble clearing the puck away from our net at the end of the 2nd and Walkerton managed to sneak 2 rebounds in before the buzzer.
Early in the 3rd
Grace Kivell scored one for the REBELS with the help of
Kirsten Sutter and
Jess, but Walkerton put another one away with 5 minutes left, to go ahead 4 - 2.
Our girls pulled together and got the shots to the net, but weren't able to get one past the big Walkerton goalie before the clock ran out.
The girls head to Southampton Friday night to face the Saugeen Shores Storm for Game 3 of their playdowns.
