Tatem Edwards records the Shut-Out as the COUNTRY CHARM MENNONITE FURNITURE Bantam 'C' Girls took Game 1 of their OWHA Provincial Playdowns 7 - 0 in Owen Sound this afternoon.
The REBELS took control of the large ice at the Rec Centre and started the scoring off early with 4 goals in the 1st period.
Lillian Harshman fired a shot from the point for her 1st of the game, assisted by
Erica McComb and
Sammy DeJong.
Madison Vokes kept the puck in and got it to
Erica in the slot for a beautiful shot top corner.
Jess Moran tied up the centreman at the face off for
Kirsten Sutter to sneak in, take the puck and score, and
Lillian finished off the period with another goal from the point.
Kirsten netted her 2nd of the game midway through the 2nd period, on a backhand pass from
Jess, and
Erica fed Lillian who completed her hat-trick with yet another hard shot from the blue line.
The only goal in the 3rd period was scored by
Jess with a backhand shot into the net, assisted by
Brittany Batterman.
The girls will have a tough game at home tomorrow when they host the Walkerton Capitals for Game 2 of their playdowns.
