Semi-Finalists at PINK ON THE RINK
Not even the white-outs and road closures could keep our 5 REBELS teams away...
The Country Charm Mennonite Furniture BANTAM 'C' Rebels travelled to Exeter on the weekend and represented TCDMHA very well with their solid effort and teamwork.
They finished 3rd overall and moved on to the Semi-Finals with a 2 - 1 - 1 record.

Game 1 early Friday morning was against the strong Ilderton Jets.  Our girls battled hard, but were unable to get the puck past the large Jets defender.  Tatem Edwards played an amazing game in the Rebels net, but the Jets did manage to sneak 2 in to take the game 2 - 0.
Tatem was awarded the game MVP.

Game 2 was an even match-up with Blyth-Brussels that ended in a 1 - 1 tie.
Grace Kivell scored a beauty "up where the cookies are kept" (says Coach Brad) on a pass from and Jess Moran at 3:55 in the 1st period, but Blyth came back and tied it up at the end of the 2nd.
Neither team could move ahead in the 3rd, leaving the game in a tie. Hannah Mustard was fabulous in out net.
Kirsten Sutter was awarded the game MVP.

Game 3 on Saturday morning saw the Rebels earn a 2 - 0 Shut-Out WIN against Wingham/Lucknow.
Grace got us on the board with 0:01 left in the 1st, in a true team effort with Jess and Kirsten.
Kirsten found the net with 4:36 left in the 2nd for the Rebels final goal, assisted by Jess and Grace.
Tatem EARNED the shut-out.
Jess was awarded the game MVP.

Game 4 QUARTER-FINAL was a rematch with the Wingham/Lucknow squad and this time ended in a 3 - 0 Shut-Out WIN for the Rebels. All 3 goals came in the 2nd period.
Astelle Wardell fired a shot from the point to take the lead, assisted by Ashlyn Mackison and Erica McComb.
Madison Vokes scored midway through the period (and was taken down by her team while celebrating the goal), assisted by Kyla Thalen.
Kirsten scored the final goal for the Rebels on an assist from Jess and Grace, and they move onto the Semis!
Hannah EARNED the shut-out.

Game 5 SEMI-FINAL was a rematch with the undefeated Ilderton Jets.
The Jets got on the board first with a goal at the end of the 1st period.  Both teams were kept scoreless for the 2nd period, and then Jess tied it up at 11:56 in the 3rd, assisted by Grace and Kirsten.  The tie was short lived as the Jets scored just 40 seconds later to regain the lead.
The girls never gave up and fought hard right to the final buzzer, but the final score remained 2 - 1 for Ilderton.

Ilderton went on to win the Championship game 4 - 0, so our girls should be very proud of the battle they gave them in both match-ups this weekend.
