The Country Charm Bantam HL girls travelled to Durham this
afternoon for their first meeting with West Grey. The West Grey girls came on
strong in the first period outshooting us and creating many scoring
opportunities. Our goaltender Ceaira Hiemstra practically stood of her head
making sure to keep us in the game and the puck out of the net with a scoreless
first period.
Our girls turned the table and came alive in the 2nd period as we gave the West Grey goaltender a lot activity outshooting them this time. All that work payed off as Natalie Stephens was able to get one past the goalie, putting us on the board. Brittany Batterman gets the assist.
Second period ends as 1-0.
The 3rd period was action packed with both teams playing so well and wanting the win. West Grey pulled their goalie in the last minute adding an extra player desperate to tie the game. But these "Country Charm" girls wanted the win more adding an empty net goal by Madison Thompson to seal the deal. Great Team Work Bantams!
