A Saturday loss and a Sunday win for the "Country Charm Mennonite Furniture" Bantam HL Rebels!
The "Country Charm Mennonite Furniture" Bantam HL girls travelled to Markdale Saturday afternoon. The girls couldn't get their game on, and struggled throughout this game. Ceaira Hiemstra made some amazing saves to keep the score low, but Markdale was hungry for the win. Scoring for the Shooting Stars was Alyssa Holliday in the first, and Kate Wilton took 2 goals in the third period. The Rebels were unable to find the net this game, leaving the score 3-0 for Markdale.
A good night sleep did this team well! These Rebel ladies did not want to repeat the Saturday game and
came out strong on Sunday afternoon in Chatsworth hosting Georgian Shores. With a short bench, an "under the weather" player and two defence playing forward - these girls rocked! They played hard, they played fair and got the job done!
Congratulations to Brittany Batterman on her first goal! (unassisted). This got the ball rolling as defence Astelle Wardell flipped the puck past everyone, up and over the goalie for our 2nd goal (unassisted). Great job by Lillian Harshman protecting our goalie and Peyton McCauley for snagging a close call as Georgian Shores tried to take the shut out from Ceaira Hiemstra, but an amazing save in the last minute and with seconds left in the game, Madison Thompson shot out of our end and into the empty net to make the final score 3-0 for the Rebels! An enjoyable game to watch, you girls did GREAT!
