The Country Charm Bantam HL girls kick off their season with a Shut Out Victory!
With only 2 practices under their belt, this team came out strong against the
Walkerton Capitals Sunday night.
Erica McComb started it off with a goal in the 2nd minute of play, assisted by Ashlyn Mackison. The Walkerton goalie held off the Rebels shot after shot but Natalie Stephens scored next with an assist by Brittany Batterman. McComb got her 2nd goal, assisted by Madison Thompson making it 3-0.
The Capitals held off our girls for most of the 2nd, but Kaylin Mustard snuck one through with assists from Batterman and birthday girl Sammy DeJong. Solid defence from Peyton McCauley, Renee Farrow, Astelle Wardell and Lillian Harshman kept our goalie protected.
Thompson put us on the board again in the 3rd, assists from Mackison and McComb. The Capitals snuck by our defence mid way through this period and came on hard 3 on 1 challenging our goalie, but Ceaira Hiemstra stood her ground earning her 1st shut out of the season! Final score 5-0!
Great team work tonight - way to go ladies!!!
