REBELS GET REVENGE
The Rebels faced the Bruce Peninsula Predators today at home in local league action.
After a loss at their last meeting in Wiarton, the Rebels were eager for a re-match.
The first period was scoreless, with action both ways as each team was testing the other defensively and offensively.
The Predators jumped to an early lead in the 2nd from a breakaway that Jayden Jackson capitalized on. Less than a minute later he added a 2nd goal to put the Preds ahead by 2. Shortly after, the Rebels goalie Owen Mackison made a game saving leg save to keep the home team alive. The Rebels rallied and Dalan Frook, assisted by Curtis Wade, popped in a squeaker that fooled the Bruce Pen goaltender to bring us within a goal with only 1:34 left in the 2nd period.
Building on their momentum from the late goal, the Rebels were able to tie the game with a sniper-like shot from Curtis Wade. Dalan Frook and Jordan Roney had the assists.
Minutes later Frook deked past the defenders and snapped in the winning goal.
A great rally boys. Well done!
Wish us luck in the Ayton Atom tournement tomorrow!
