Houston steps up with a hat-trick!
The TCDMHA Barrys Construction Atom LL Rebels travelled to Wiarton last night to face the Predators in playoff action.
With determination the Rebels came out skating hard and playing their positions well.
Curtis Wade started the scoring for the Rebels mid way in the 1st period with a high shot that fooled the Preds goalie, assisted by Landon Heathers. With :40 left on the clock Wesley Houston was fed by Jordan Roney and Ethan Harrison and walked in the give the Rebels a 2-0 lead.
The Rebels controlled the 2nd period and furthered their lead with Houston adding another goal, assisted by Curtis Wade.
The 3rd period saw the Rebels kill off a penalty, and again the duo of Houston and Wade added another goal to seal the win. This goal completed a natural hat-trick for Wesley who stepped up to fill in a gap from an injured forward.
Owen Mackison shut down the Predators offense when tested, and earned the shut out.
Our final round robin playoff game is next Wednesday at home when we face the Storm for a re-match.
