BUSY WEEKEND FOR ATOM LL
After a tiring day in Clifford, the mighty Rebels faced off in Shallow Lake to play one of their northern rivals. So far this season we have beaten the Laker #2 squad, but tonight we had a short bench as we were down 2 players.
In spite of that, the Rebels played very well.
The 1st period had the Lakers in our end, but Owen Mackison kept the net empty until Meghan Prentice tapped in a nice rebound to start the scoring. We had some great chances as well, but with only 41 seconds left Spencer Davidson added a 2nd goal for the Lakers.
The 2nd period was action-packed, and Dalan Frook tapped in a goal assisted by Ethan Harrison and Dillon Fry to get the Rebels within a goal. The Rebels were starting to heat things up in the Laker's end.
However, the Lakers answered back with Jake Ross on a breakaway late in the 2nd to put the host team up 2 goals.
The 3rd period was much of the same end-to-end action, but the Lakers were able to add 1 more goal to seal the win.
A great effort by the tired Rebels.
