Another Trophy For The Case!
The Air-Tech Mechanical Bantam Reps finished off the season with a decisive win against Bruce Pen.
After sweeping the round robin series against Wingham, Mitchell and Blyth-Brussels, the boys were heading to the WOAA championship against a strong foe from the Peninsula. They had two, six game winning streaks and won 12 of their last 15 games. We headed up to Lion's Head for game 1 and after a slow start, chipped away at them for a 4-1 win.
Game 2 in Chatsworth started the same way, but this time the Rebels couldn't push back hard enough and left the ice with a reversal of score, 4-1.
Monday night was the third and final game of the series. The boys were ready this time right from the start, putting the pressure on and playing in the opponents end for the first few shifts. Play in the first period was tight with great saves in both ends and no score for either team. The tie was finally broken midway through the second by a nice shot by Evan Kuhl, assisted by Will McNabb. Evan then scored again, a minute and a half later assisted by Jacob Roney. The floodgates opened in the third, starting with a powerplay goal by Matt Woodroffe, assisted by Jacob Roney and Nathan Schwartz. Then Evan's hat trick goal from James Early and Will McNabb. Will wanted in on the scoring by potting the next two, with both helpers going to Evan. Nathan finished off the scoring, assist to Wyatt Sweiger. Final score 8-0. Congratulations to Ryley MacLeod on his third shutout of the year!
The boys have a little break before heading to St. George for the windup tournament.
Let's keep it going and get one more trophy!
