Rebels Vs. the Lakers Part Two:
The TCDMHA Bantam Air-Tech Mechanical Rebels traveled to Shallow lake on Thursday night for the second
and last meeting of the regular season between the two teams.
The boys came out in the first with some jump and spent most of the
first period testing the Shallow Lake goalie. The boys opened up the
scoring at the half way mark of the period on a nice shot from Luke
Miller assisted by Evan Longland. Two minutes later the guys went up
by two when Will McNabb buried one off a rebound. The Rebels finished
the 1st up 2 to 0.
The second period was owned by the the Lakers and they continually
tested Ryley McLeod from every angle, but he was up for the challenge.
He surrendered only one goal all game and it came at the 10 minute mark
on a short handed marker that got the Lakers within one. For the
remainder of the period the Rebels had trouble mounting any offense and
the play was predominately in our end. The period ended 2 to 1 for the
Rebels.
In the third the play evened out a bit more and the two teams traded a
number of scoring chances. the lone goal of the period was scored by
Jacob Roney on a great fore-check and strong move to the net. That was
all the room that the Rebels and Ryley MacLeod needed. The final was 3
to 1 and shots favoured the Laker 26 to 13. Player of the Game Ryley
MacLeod.
