First meeting of the Lakers/ Rebel Rivalry:
Chatsworth, Tuesday night was host to the first meeting of the year between Shallow Lake and the TCDMHA Air-Tech Mechanical Rebels. Both Teams looking to improve their records and they showed some hard work right from the drop of the puck.

The Lakers took the play to the Rebels for the first 10 minutes firing lots of pucks at Ryley MacLeod. Ryley was up to the challenge but with 3 seconds remaining in the first a point shot got tipped and found it's way to the back of the net.

A brief break between periods did the Rebels some good. Jacob Roney tied things up with a nice breakaway goal going five hole on the Lakers net-minder. The flood gates openned on the Lakers net at about the 8 minute mark of the 2nd when the Rebels scored three goals in less than 1 minute. Wyatt Sweiger's wrister from the point going top shelf, Jacob Roney's second of the game on the effort of a strong rush and a nice pass by Will McNabb and Matt Woodroffe topped it all off with a neat wrap-around tucking it under the keepers pads. With just about 2
minutes remaining Dave Harrison took a pass on the draw from Nathan Schwartz and blasted it low blocker side heading into the third the Rebels were up 5 to 1.

The third period brought some great team play by the Rebels, they started to control the puck in the Lakers zone and kept them off balance when trying to mount any sort of attack. The only scoring was by the Rebels on a late goal by Nathan Schwartz. Shots favoured the Rebels 28 to 25. This was a great team effort guys everyone stepped up, it was fun to watch. Congratulations on the win and our first penalty free game of the year. Good disciplined hockey I'm sure the coaches were very happy! Next game is Saturday with Minto coming to town for our first look at their squad.
