Remembrance Day Tourney in Arthur:
Game 1:

We opened up the tourney against Elma Logan at 11 am, it wasn't our best
effort to date and the boys knew it. They came out flat and quickly got
behind 3 to 0. By the end of the 1st it was 3 to 1 so we had a little
hope as the game progressed. Early in the third it was 3 to 2 and the
boys were starting to press and take the momentum back. A failed
clearing attempt and a tipped point shot put Elma Logan out of reach and
the final score was 4 to 2. Shots favoured the rebels 23 to 13.

Game 2 against Durham: Right from the drop of the puck you knew it was
going to be a better effort the boys got out to a quick lead With Evans
Kuhl's third of the tourney. Durham managed to tie us in the second but
the score was not indicative of the play as most of the possession was
in our favour and the shot count certainly reflected that. Evan had
buried his second of the game and that was the winner and ultimately the
final score 2 to 1 rebels. Shots were 25 to 6 in our favour. The win
put us in the "B" finals against a strong and chippy squad from Creemore.

"B" Finals: By far the best game of the day almost all the scrambley
play from the firsts two games disappeared and the boys played strong
positional hockey. Evan Kuhl opened up the scoring in the first and
that is the way the game stayed until three minutes left in the third
when a Creemore blast from the point went top shelf over Ryley's glove
on a shot I'm sure he never saw due to a screen. Overtime came in went
in true tourney style with the 4 on 4, 3 on 3 and 2 on 2 sessions
solving nothing although there were a number of chances at both ends.
Off to a sudden death shootout. Nathan Schwartz was our first shooter
and he just couldn't solve the Creemore tender on the strong deke
attempt, Ryley did his job and turned away the shooter. Second Shooter
was Evan Kuhl and he made no mistake, going top shelf glove side.
Ironically the Creemore shooter attempted the same thing but Ryley would
have nothing do with it making the game clinching save. Shots on goal
19 to 16 for the Rebels. (not including the four posts we hit)

Congratulations guys on a strong tourney and a great result.
