Rebels Hold on for the Win
The Horton's Concrete Finishing Novice Rep Rebels battled the Arran Elderslie
Ice Dogs to a 7-4 win in Keady on Saturday. it was an all around great team
effort as the Rebels take the first game of their WOAA Jacobi division playoff
series.
The game opened up with The Ice Dogs taking the lead on an unassisted goal from Brett Hagan. The Rebels would reply late in the first to tie the game as Hayden Wardell scored unassisted.
Early in the second William Hoare would put the Rebels ahead with assists coming from Maverick Lacey and Dylan Ledingham. 2-1 Rebels after the second.
The third period would see eight goals as the game see sawed back and forth. First the Ice Dogs would tie the game on a goal from Liam Copping assisted by Hagan. The Rebels would regain the lead on another goal from Hoare assisted by Nate Garrett. The Ice Dogs would tie it again when Jacob Fritz scored unassisted. Then the Ice Dogs would take the lead half way through the third as Hagen scored his second of the game assisted by Annie MacKinnon and Copping. The Rebels would come storming back with four unanswered goals first Dakota McComb would tie the game with the assist from Wardell. Then Maverick Lacey would put the Rebels ahead 5-4 with an assist from Garrett. Next Garrett would get one assisted from Lacey. Finally McComb would rap things up with an unassisted marker, making the final 7-4.

The series continues on Friday February 22nd at 6:00 in Chesley. If a third game is needed it will be played on Saturday 23rd in Tara at 10:30.
