Atom Girls participate in Orangeville Sweethearts Tourny
The TCDMHA "Homelife/Bayside Realty" Atom Girls Rebels participated in the Orangeville Sweethearts Tournament on the weekend.  The girls were 0 and 3 on the weekend in the tough 'B' division, but they battled hard each game, and never gave up

The first game, they were up against the North Halton Twisters and despite being down, they rallied late in the third period with goals from Tristin Brown and Rachel Mallette, eventually losing 7-2. Mallette earned the MVP of the game for the Rebels and the hardest-working player of the game award went to Jamie Gilchrist.

The Rebels' second game was against the Woolwich Wild who came out flying and scored a number of early goals, but the Rebels managed to shut them down part way through the game thanks, in large part to the strong defensive play of Aly Airdrie, MVP of the game, and Jade Gilchrist, hardest-working player of the game.  The final score of the game was 6-0.

In their third and final game, the Rebels fell 7-0 to the host Orangeville team.  Tristin Brown played an excellent game defensively for the Rebels, earning her MVP of the game.  Kirsten Sutter earned the team's hardest-working player of the game for her leadership on and off the ice over the course of the weekend.  The opposing coach made a point of telling the girls how well they competed and commended goalie, Grace Vokes, for never giving up and making several key saves.

Great effort, girls!  Rebels travel to Kincardine on Wednesday for their first playdown game.  Good luck, girls!
