2012 STARTS WITH 2-2 TIE for Atom GIrls
The TCDMHA "Homelife/Bayside Realty" Atom Girls Rebels
skated to a 2-2 tie with the Teeswater Otters today.
The Otters took a 2-0 lead into the third period, on goals by Sierra Wright and Hailey Hodgins. Rebels forward, Janna Wardell, picked up her first goal of the season at 6:44 of the third, coming on assists from Grace Kivell and Aly Airdrie. Abby Vokes netted the tying marker for the Rebels with 1:30 remaining in the game. Kirsten Sutter picked up the assist. Vokes earned the team's "hardest working player-of-the-game" award for her strong play and hard skating at both ends of the ice. Grace Vokes was solid in net for the Rebels, smothering several Otters shots. Rebels play at home again on Wednesday against Saugeen Shores.
