Good Effort....and tired bodies...following season opening weekend
The Township of Chatsworth "Town and Country Nursery and Landscaping" Midget C Girls opened their season this weekend with a pair of games. They traveled to Mount Forest Saturday night but came up short 1-0. Hard work and true grit earned them a 2-2 tie despite their short bench in Walkerton on Sunday.
Game two in Walkerton on Sunday proved to be a test of perseverance for the players that were able to make it to the game. Rebels struck first with a goal in the first period by Brittany Batterman and assist from Janna Wardell and Sam DeJong. Walkerton was able to tie it up before the end of the first. The Rebels pulled ahead in the second with a goal from Delaney Crowe assisted by Brittany and Carly Juby. Walkerton tied it up in the third but the Rebels, exhausted and battered with only their 8 skater squad and a stellar performance by their recovering goalie Ashlynn Stephenson, were able to hold on for the tie. Good job ladies!!!
