Fall Fest Tournament

The TCDMHA “Jennifer & Dave Tedford Remax” Midget B Girls participated in the 24th Annual Kitchener Lady Rangers Fall Fest Tournament this weekend.  A great weekend of hockey for a hard-working, talented group of young ladies!

Heading into the tournament with two big wins under their belts (4:1 over Milverton & 2:1 over Kincardine) the girls and the coaching staff were feeling excited for the weekend ahead.

Game One:  Bright and early Friday morning the Rebels faced off against the Markham-Stouffville Stars.  Jade Gilchrist was the lone goal scorer of the game with a wrist shot from the slot.  Joren Wilcox was awarded the assist and Hannah Mustard with the shut out.  1:0 WIN & Jade Gilchrist was awarded the MVP

Game Two:  After a fun team lunch and some Black Friday Shopping the Rebels were matched up against the Napanee squad.  It was another close game with the Chatty girls being the only team to put a point on the board.  Hunter Moffat with a slap shot from the point scored the game winner with Joren Wilcox and Natalie Franks assisting.  Hannah Mustard had shut out number two.  1:0 WIN & Hannah Mustard was awarded the MVP.

Game Three:  Saturday morning we met the Kitchener Lady Rangers in game three of round robin play.  Jade Gilchrist got us on the board early with some hard work in front of the net.  With a redirected shot from the point by Hunter Moffat the Rebels would take the game 2:0.  Reese Wilkins, Joren Wilcox, Grace Kivell and Michaela Sadler were awarded assists and Hannah Mustard continued her perfect record with shut out number three.  2:0 WIN & Hunter Moffat was awarded the MVP.

Game Four:  Despite all the deals at the mall the girls were able to refocus and face the Woodstock Wilcats late Saturday afternoon.   With an awesome wrist shot from the point by Michaela Sadler and a beauty chip in from Grace Kivell the Rebels held on to win game four 2:0 and finish the round robin with a perfect record of four wins/zero losses and no goals against!   2:0 WIN & Michaela Sadler was awarded the MVP.

Semi-Finals:  Another early morning for the Rebels with a game Sunday morning at 9AM against Nepean.  With a perfect record on the line the girls came to play and play they did.  Two very evenly matched teams kept both the fans and coaches on the edge of their seats throughout the entire game.  With only seconds left in the 3rd period Nepean was able to break out and find the back of the net to take the game 1:0.  159 minutes & 39 seconds of shut out hockey ended with only 21 seconds left in regulation!  Hannah Mustard was awarded the MVP.

An absolutely amazing weekend of hockey by these wonderful young ladies!  Each and every member of this team played fantastic in this tournament!  Both the coaching staff and the fans that had the pleasure of watching them are so very, very proud of all you accomplished!!  Way To Go Rebels!!
