AEMHA rematch starts strong
Just over a week after the Howell Transport TCDMHA Midget LL
Rebels played a tight contest against AEMHA, losing by just one goal, the boys
came back to the rink ready to turn the tables in a rematch. The team came out of the dressing room prepared
to work hard, and true to their word, they opened the scoring.
The goal, coming at the six-minute mark of the first, was netted by Talmon Ash and assisted by Garrett McNabb. The Rebels continued to shut down the AEMHA offence for the duration of the first period, keeping their opponent’s shots on the good side of the net until the dying seconds when AEMHA came back to tie the score. The second period saw more of the same – a complete shutdown of the AE offence. It took a man-advantage goal on a Rebels minor penalty to be able to crack their picture-perfect defensive play.
Only one goal separated the two teams going into the second period intermission, but about halfway through the third period, the game got away from the Rebels, despite their best efforts to sustain their impenetrable defence. AE would go on to score two more goals, putting the game out of reach. Final score: AEMHA 4 and TCDMHA 1. Strong effort, boys!
