BIG Win for the small Rebels squad
With only 8 skaters The Barry's Construction Atom LL#2 team defeat the visiting Owen Sound Jr Attack #1 team in Keady.
Down 2-1 after the first period with Jimmy Couch scoring the goal with the pass coming from Andersen McComb, the Rebels continued to battle through the fatigue. Great saves from the Owen Sound Goaltender denied the Rebels from increasing the score. Wyatt Garren stayed strong at the other end of the ice as well, keeping the score the same at the end of the second. However, the small but mighty Rebels team continued to press hard to the net and were finally rewarded at 2:28 of the third with another marker on the scoreboard as Jackson Greig was sent in alone with a great pass from Ashton Spencer. The team was pumped and continued to dominate the play. Karissa Rasmussen got the puck in the defensive zone, passed it up to Jimmy Couch who carried the puck and cleared the zone, making his way through center ice. The seconds were ticking away on the clock, and Jimmy passed the puck ahead to Greig's stick. Greig stickhandled closer to the net before firing the puck hard past the visiting goalie, he shoots he scores.....6 seconds left in the game and the Rebels are now up 3-2! Winning the final faceoff was all the Rebels needed to secure the win. Very exciting game indeed! Well Done Team!
