Playoff Action Begins
The Barry's Construction Atom LL#2 squad travelled to Southampton to begin their round robin playoff series. They faced the Saugeen Shores #1 team and stuck right with them until the third period. Jackson Greig led the Rebels scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists, followed by Austin Rasmussen scoring a pair of his own. Jimmy Couch rounded out the scoring with a single. Additional assists going to Andersen McComb and Karissa Rasmussen.
The game was tied at 4 after 2 periods. Unfortunately, the third period hurt and the Storm charged ahead with 4 more goals. The Rebels did score the last goal of the game but it was a little too late! Final score 8-5 for the hometown Storm team.
The next day, The Rebels hosted Bruce Peninsula and treated the hometown fans in Keady to a great game. Xander Kirk got the Rebels on the scoreboard first just 48 seconds into the game. Jackson Greig would add his first of the game 50 seconds later, and look at that Rebels are up 2-0 in under 2 minutes of play! The visiting Predators didn't give up though and proved to be tough opponents throughout the rest of the game. Greig would add his second of the game halfway through the 2nd period with a breakaway pass from Austin Rasmussen. Then later in the third Andersen McComb would bury one with passes from Finn McKee and Jake Oatt. Exciting playoff action at its best! Look out, here come the playoff beards!
