TOTAL TEAM EFFORT in tonight's SHUT-OUT
Lawson Cumming started off Round 2 of the OMHA Playdowns for the 'Air-Tech Mechanical' BANTAM REP boys with a shut-out over Central Perth.

The Rebels were forechecking, backchecking and passing the puck well on their home ice tonight.  They take game 1 with 5 unanswered goals spread throughout the 3 periods of fast paced hockey.
Hunter Schultz scored the lone goal of the 1st period, assisted by Mitch Faust and Calvin Stewart at 3:30.

The 2nd period was all about the 'D' ... as Jack Kivell fired a rocket from the blue-line through traffic and into the back of the net, assisted by Austin McComb at 10:48, and Faust put the puck back to Cory Rasmussen at the point for another hard shot straight to the net at 3:34.

All the excitement in the 3rd period happened within 10 seconds on the clock, as Carson Torrie took out the guy in the corner with the puck, Jake Moran picked it up and centred it to Clay Krueger for a one-timer in the far side of the net at 6:25 ... and right off Torrie's face-off at centre ice, Moran "beat Central Perth's winger to the loose puck, carried it in around their defenseman and fired it hard and hoped for the best" (direct quote) at 6:15.
Final score 5 - 0

The Rebels head to Monkton for GAME 2 on Thursday night at 8pm.
