SCORE BOARD didn't SHOW the GREAT TEAM EFFORT
The Barry’s Construction Atom LL Rebels played one of their best games of the season, but the score board didn’t see it.
An incredible Rebels defense held back the Ice Dogs until the end of the first period. The well-tuned squad brought their usual energy and precision to the game, stopping all but a few attempts on our goal. Through the second and third periods, there was no giving in by the defensemen. They played a tight game for all 35 minutes.
Sporting some newly mixed offensive lineups, the Rebels produced a nail-biting performance. Accurate passes, and one-timer setups – our team looked as if they’d been in these lines since the beginning. Digging behind the net for numerous setups, produced shot after shot on the AEMHA net. Our guys were hungry for the puck. This doesn’t look like the same team that started 3 months ago.
As the gap increased on the scoreboard, our forwards ramped up their game. It simply wasn’t enough as our Rebels failed to find the back of the net. Some tight goaltending from the Ice Dogs thwarted our every move. A last ditch effort in the final 3 minutes of play saw an empty Rebels net. The Rebels defense made sure that the puck never saw our half as 6 of our skaters took on the AEMHA goal. Amazingly, the puck couldn’t find its way in. A 5-0 victory for the AEMHA Ice Dogs.
